Who. Spoken Awareness, a book project of Giovanni Kerkhof, the Netherlands. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect. Your email address; optionally a first name (used once, to greet you in the delivery email, and not stored) and how you heard about the book. We also record, without your email, which version of the page you saw, whether the email was delivered and whether its link was opened, so we can compare page versions. Your IP address is not stored.

Why, and on what basis. To send you the chapter you asked for (your request). The weekly letter only if you ticked that separate box (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

Where. Your email address is kept only in the project mailbox on our own mail server; our statistics hold a salted one-way hash of it, never the address itself. The website runs on Cloudflare.

How long. At most 12 months, then deleted.

Your rights. Reply “delete” to any of our emails, or use the link at the bottom of it, and your address is deleted from the mailbox and the statistics within 7 days. You can also ask for access or correction, and you may complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
